.NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can acquire your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to alter the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no special prerequisites on who can reserve a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.

The .NAME top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your native language.
