In case you host multiple websites in the same account and one of them gets hacked, it's very likely that all of them will get hacked afterwards. There are different reasons why this could happen, the two most common are: using very weak passwords or using outdated scripts with widely known weaknesses. This way, one single compromised website can do a lot of damage to all your websites, since gaining access to one script often allows hackers to access the whole web hosting account. This is the reason why we've developed an innovative security option called JailHost. Once turned on, this option will literally lock a site inside its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other sites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your Internet sites up-to-date, but it'll significantly minimize the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

In case you host your sites in a shared hosting account from our firm, you could protect them using the JailHost option with just a few mouse clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is provided with all packages and can be enabled for any folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so files for many different Internet sites do not get mixed up as it usually happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts that need access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option can interfere with their proper functioning, but shielding all the other folders is really easy. If a secured site gets hacked for some reason, we can restore it very quickly because we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups in Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

All of our semi-dedicated server packages come with JailHost integrated by default. This feature is not activated automatically when you add a domain name since you may need to use a certain script which accesses different folders in the account, but you will be able to activate it effortlessly via your Hepsia Control Panel and protect the rest of your websites with just a few clicks. Hepsia is much better to use for those who have multiple sites as it keeps them in separate folders and does not keep the files for several sites in the very same folder as it often happens with various other Control Panels. This allows us to offer you JailHost as all folders can be isolated from one another. In case that any one of your websites is hacked, we'll be able to promptly restore it using the several daily backup copies which we'll keep and in the mean time your attacker will not be able to do further damage as the access to your other websites will be cut off.
